Domaine Bessa Valley, Enira White
Enira White, Domaine Bessa Valley, Thracian Valley, Bulgaria
Bottle notes
Domaine Bessa Valley is located about 150 km southeast of Bulgaria's capital, Sofia, near the village of Ognyanovo. It is owned by the dapper Count Stephan von Neipperg, a German wine magnate who owns many of the best right-bank Chateaux in Bordeaux. And much like that storied region, his Bessa Valley wines exhibit big, bold flavours using mainly classic French grape varieties.
Enira White is made from the classic southern-Rhone blend of 46% Viognier, 31% Marsanne and 23% Roussanne. The grapes were hand-harvested and aged in oak for 6 months prior to release. Vibrant & aromatic, it has a nose of lemon zest, quince, elderflower and acacia. The palate is rich but balanced by a good level of acidity which carries the fruit-driven finish. A great pair with roast pork.
Tasting Notes
Intense straw yellow colour. Pronounced notes of pears, apricots, quince, melon and lime. Round and soft body, great texture and balanced acidity, ending with lovely finesse at the finish.
Food Match
Roast chicken, Pork, Seafood & Asian cuisine.
