Bottle notes
Glorious sweet red wine made from ripe Grenache grapes (50cl bottle). Made in the port style, by additional of alcohol to stop the fermentation, this is perfect with chocolate or rich fruit cake.
Terroir
80+ year old vines in clay- chalky soil, poor in organic matter.
Production
Made from ancient grenache vines, this sweet red wine is made from late harvested grapes handpicked at the beginning of November, just before going over the edge, fermented slowly and matured for 12 months in American and French oak barrels.
Tasting notes
It’s sweet nose and clear, rounded, chocolate aromas stand out over background hints of coffee, liquorice, wild forest fruit jam, candied tomato, black olive and a touch of floral. This is a complex wine with a smooth, harmonious, lingering aftertaste.
Food Pairing
Ideal as a partner for desserts, chocolates and blue cheeses.
