Maypole Brut. Was £27.99, Now £22.99!

Chardonnay 44%, Pinot Noir 41%, Pinot Meunier 15%. Vegetarian, Vegan, Sustainable, Sparkling Wine.
The Maypole happily captures the joys of an English spring and summer, expressed in this classic sparkling blend, with 5 years on lees giving ribbons of bubbles that dance in the glass in this frothily festive fizz. It is layered, gently mature yet still fresh. Lots of crisp apple and pear fruit characters on the palate with a fine, persistent mousse. There’s a long finish which shows some biscuit development along with characteristic, balanced acidity.

Langham Culver Classic Cuvee, Was £29.99, Now £28.99!

Our friends at Langham have really dug down into the detail of their vineyards to create a couple of fascinating new cuvées. This is the Culver and it promotes the Pinots (66% Noir & 24% Meunier) and as a result you get a fuller red fruit aspect. Wild flowers, hawthorn, cherry and wild strawberry, but still with a bright ripe citrus acidity. It fills the mouth with flavour but never overwhelms, it would be a great match for lobster, trout and scallops. 10% Chardonnay makes up the blend, mostly from the 2017 vintage.

Casa Defra, Lessini Durello, Was £11.49, Now £10.99!

We've been saying for years, if you like Prosecco, wait until you try Durello. It has more depth of flavour and complexity, but still retains the cleaness of its Italian cousin. Plus, comparatively speaking, its way better value. To buy an equivalent standard Prosseco to this Cielo e Terra Casa Defra Lessini Durello would easily set you back £15.

Dürkheimer Hochbenn Riesling is a new project we started in 2012, the grapes come from 30 years old vines. The must is fermented wild in 500 litre oak barrels and aged for 12 months inside of the barrel. We bought new barrels in 2012, which means you can taste the influence of the young oak. The goal is to use old 500l barrels which don't affect the varietal character anymore but secure a good wild fermentation. This special release shows Riesling with an impact by oak

Sourced from the Bassin de Thau, Picpoul country. It is predominantly Vermentino (60%) which gives the wine its core qualities of citrus levity. In the mid-20th century, Semillon was the most planted grape in Bordeaux, but it's been in constant decline.

Whilst the vast proportion of land is now dedicated to red grapes, the white wines are some of the most underrated and often represent good value for money. Fleshy and round, this shows an attractive citrus character, accented by white blossom and yellow plum.

Somontano Enate Chardonnay, Was £14.99, Now £11.99!

The grapes are harvested by hand and put into boxes, upon arrival to the winery they are lightly crushed and placed in a pneumatic press for five hours while they undergo pellicular maceration. The solid waste is removed by natural decantation at 10°C and the must is fermented in stainless steel tanks with selected yeasts and temperature controlled at 16°C. Before the wine is bottled it is clarified, stabilised and filtered; it rests six months before going to market.

For health-conscious and/or weight-watching drinkers, it doesn’t get much sunnier than this clean- tasting zero-sugar white at 9% ABV and 85 calories per 5-ounce serving. Sustainably farmed on a family-owned Monterey County estate, it shows off aromas of lime and white flowers, and the palate is light, with grassy notes naturally sweetened by flavors of pineapple and honeyed pear. A tart grapefruit finish sets the palate up for that next sip.
