'V' Prosecco DOC 'Extra Dry', Veneto, Italy
This is a beautiful pale Prosecco, with delicate, refined bubbles.
Soft stone fruit and white orchard fruit are evident on the nose. The
palate is light and fresh, very soft mousse with flavours of pear
drops, white peach and at the very back, elderflower. Crisp and
refreshing with a mouth-watering hint of sweet fruit.
Oedoria Cremant de Bourgogne Brut Blanc de Blancs, Burgundy, France
A blanc de blancs crémant, harvested from a group of small parcels with
silica and clay and chalk and clay soils. In the glass you will discover
its extremely fine bubbles, and a fresh, aromatic quality on the nose
with lemony notes that will awaken your taste buds. Perfect as an
aperitif.
Mare Nostrum Picpoul de Pinet, Languedoc, France
A great example of Picpoul. Dry, crisp apples and white flowers. Lovely as an aperitif or with Seafood.
Le Veritable Jurancon Sec, Pyrenees, France
From the foothills of the Pyrenees comes this crisp and beautifully dry
Gros Manseng. Grapefruits and baked lemon flavours flesh out the
mouthwatering acidity making for a perfect summer tipple.
Macon Chaintre 'Cuvee Quatre' Burgundy, France
Chardonnay from Southern Burgundy. Pale yellow in colour. The bouquet is fresh and fragrant with white
fleshed fruit such as pear, quince and green apple. Delicate and
fruity on the palate, with no discernible oak, clean lemon citrus
flavours that lead back around to crisp green apple. A little stony
minerality on the finish.
Fontevecchia Verdicchio dei Castelli de Jesi Classico Superiore, Italy
The 'Chablis of Italy'... With a bright straw appearance, with greenish reflections. During the
smell phase it offers pleasant fruity and floral aromas: wisteria,
jasmine, apple, an exotic touch of papaya, cedar, almond blossom and
lemon balm. In the mouth it has material and good warmth, but above all
the decisive freshness and a remarkable sapidity stands out.
Snapper Rock Pinot Noir, Marlborough, New Zealand
Bright garnet in colour. Perfumed nose of fresh cherries, cinnamon and
all spice with savoury undertones. Spicy tannins are matched with pure
crushed red berries and dried herbs on the palate. Persistant flavours
of tamarillo lead onto a lingering dry mineral finish.
Font De Joubert Cotes-du-Rhone, France
60% Grenache (1920s), 35% Cinsault, 5% Syrah from sandy soils, hand harvested, whole bunch 3 week vinification, pumping overs, vat raised 6 months, unfined, unfiltered, "drink with daube of beef, chicken, charcuterie”
Quite full red robe, with a lighter top. There is baked angle to the bouquet, compact, compressed red fruit such as raspberry presence, a hint of raisin. It is grapey and rather raw. The palate is sturdy, comes with an implicit power that means it is best suited to cool weather drinking, autumn dishes. There is a spiced take, and the tannins are just on the dry side. Try decanting it.
Palacio del Camino Real Rioja Reserva, Spain
Traditional style Reserva Rioja with black fruit flavours and spicy rich
oak notes. The palate is medium-bodied with a real fruit driven
flavour. Plum, red and black fruit and soft vanilla notes shine. The
finish is long with a soft tannic structure.
Lama di Pietra Nero di Troia, Puglia, Italy
Ruby in colour with violet reflections. Red fruit aromatics of mulberry
and cherry give way to a soft palate with delicate tannins. Persistent,
full-bodied and elegant, this Nero di Troia is perfectly balanced.
Chateau Lafon Listrac-Medoc Cru Bourgeois, Bordeaux, France
Rich, complex Claret, It offers a range of floral aromas (violet in a young
wine , peony after a few years ) , dried fruits ( prunes ) with delicate
shades of undergrowth , toast and hints of vanilla .
Ramos Pinto RP.LBV Port, Portugal
Deep, dark red. Its aroma is intensely fruity with ripe plums and a hint
of chocolate. Elegant on the palate, with good body and some power;
round tannins and evident fruit maturity, it is accompanied by a light
touch of anise and a long, rich finish..
