A classic Juniper-forward gin with layers of bright citrus and aromatic botanicals. Created from field to bottle in our hand-built copper stills using exclusive populations of ancient heritage grain. The Oxford Artisan Distillery Dry Gin
Bottling Note
The Oxford Artisan Distillery was founded by Tom Nicolson in the historical city of Oxford, making it the first, legal gin distillery in the 'city of dreaming spires'!
The first gin release from these intrepid distillers is made with ancient populations of heritage grain grown exclusively on organic farms within a 50 mile radius of the site. Truly a local spirit.
It was distilled in two, handmade, purpose built stills, Nautilus (2,200 litre) and Nemo (500 litre), which were built by Paul Pridham from South Devon Railway.
Tasting Note
Nose: Dense pine leaves, fresh coriander and a touch of aromatic cardamom rise over sprightly juniper and tangerine pulp.
Palate: Toasted peppercorn leads before zesty orange rind develops in this juniper-led gin. Syrupy anise and warm menthol provide a smooth underlay.
Finish: Sumptuously long and deep, the syrupiness lingers on the edge of your tongue, while fragrant cardamom and orange oil fade dutifully.
