Torabhaig Sound of Sleat

Bottle notes

Sound of Sleat is part of Torabhaig’s Legacy series, which charts the development of the distillery’s house style ahead of its first 10-year-old release. Named after the stretch of sea visible from the stillhouse on Skye, it reflects both the evolving character of the whisky and a strong sense of place. Maturation in a mix of new American oak and ex-bourbon barrels combines notes of citrus, stone fruit and beeswax with fragrant smoke, vanilla, sweet spice and a touch of coastal salinity.

Nose

Sweet leather and pine smoke, barbecued apples and pears and soft spice: nutmeg and cinnamon with a touch of black pepper. Sultana touches follow with a bit of sea spray brininess.

Palate

Sweet and softly smoky, with Golden Delicious apples (lightly blowtorched), a flash of medicinal peat, glacé cherries, bracken and a touch of earthiness.

Finish

A quick burst brine fades to leave cherries, sultanas, damp rock pools and a wisp of smoke.
