Avignonesi Vino Nobile di Montepulciano 2017 If you think of Tuscan reds it's Chianti and Brunello that spring to mind. Most people are less acquainted with Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. Avignonese are the most important and highly regarded estate in Vino Nobile de Montepulciano, The wines are really tasty as a result of the clay soil, and Sangiovese clone grown produce wines that are a little darker, fuller bodied and richer than most Tuscan wines but with that tell-tale black cherry freshness that makes Sangiovese so wonderfully food friendly. The estates core wine. Dark red fruit flavours, forest floor, classic. Very structured with noticeable tannins and fresh acidity. This is definitely a food wine. Decant it for a few hours to show it at its delicious best.
