Ribona Spumante, Colli Maceratesi Ribona Spumante Brut Metodo Martinotti DOC
Bottle notes
The Ribona grape is an indigenous grape in the province of Macerata in Le Marche. Only 100 hectares of this rare grape have been planted here. In comparison, the entire viticulture of the Netherlands covers almost 350 hectares. As early as the eighth century, the grape variety was used for the production of wine, but was suppressed by grape varieties with more international fame. Saputi is committed to bringing back this unique wine grape.
Producer
Saputi is a real Italian family business, started by Angelo Saputi. It was one of the first producers in the region to focus on quality rather than quantity. The company is now run by the fourth generation. Moved by love for the land and vineyards, Saputi transformed from conventional farming to organic farming in 2013. The winery prefers to use grape varieties from its own country, and preferably from the Le Marche region.
Tasting notes
Colour: Light straw yellow colour with greenish reflexes from the high hill Ribona. The perlage is fine, rich and persistent.
Bouquet: Good intensity, it expresses floral notes of white rose, linden and jasmine. Pleasantly fruity with crunchy pome and citrus fruits.
Taste: Rich with good structure, fresh, fragrant, with a final persistent and perfect balance. Interesting finish with fresh notes of grapefruit.
Food Pairing
Aperitivo and starters, especially if made with fish and polenta dishes.
