CELLERS CARLES ANDREU, 12 TREPAT
Bottle Notes
A fresh low alcohol Trepat stunner from the long time leading advocate of the grape, and the former head of the DO, from Conca de Barberà. This is produced in the Conca de Barbera region just north of Tarragona. The wine is made with the Trepat grape varietal, there is only 1500 hectares of this grown and is thought to be indiginous to the region. On the nose there is strawberry and slightly meaty hints. On the palate you get red fruits, including cherry with notes of white pepper and cloves
Terroir
The vineyards are scattered around in the poorer, small-lot subsistence northern side of the Conca. Certified eco. at 3500kg/ha. Cool-climate, often finish picking in November.
Production
Grapes are harvested in 20kg bins and cooled to 10ºC overnight. Passed through a huge selection table. Fermented in stainless autopigeage tanks.
Tasting Notes
