Castiadas Praidis Vermentino
Cantina Castiadas Praidis Vermentino di Sardegna DOC
The small cooperative in the corner of Sardinia
Cantina Castiades was founded in 1959 by an association of about 50 small Sardinian wine growers. The small cooperative harvests the grapes in Sarrabus in the southeast corner of Sardinia. The main objective today is the production of quality wines, obtained according to the ancient traditions of the wine production that still today has the famous Cannonau as its most valuable product and which only in this part of Sardinia can boast the subtitle 'Capo Ferrato'.
The special Sardinian granite soil permeates the philosophy
All efforts and strategies combined with the new technologies concentrated on those productions that best represented the Sardinian territory according to typical character and tradition. The philosophy of Castiadas is simply to do everything possible to ensure that the special granite soil of the Mediterranean island is reflected to the maximum in all the wines. Today, as yesterday, Cantina Castiadas continues to produce wine that incorporates the tradition, taste and aroma of this land where sea and mountains coexist. To achieve this, Castiadas do not work with barrels when storing their wines in the cellar. Instead, they use steel and concrete containers to store the wine that is only fermented by free rennet when pressing the grapes.
Fresh and intense wines
The wines of Cantina Castiadas are a wonderful proof of a product that tastes of the soil and climate of the grapes that have grown. The wines all have a freshness and elegance that greatly enhances the fruit of the local grape varieties.
