Comprising a total area of 40 hectares, 37 hectares in total are planted at Château Carcanieux consisting of mostly old Cabernet Sauvignon with some Merlot and Cabernet Franc. The estate's vines lie on extremely gravelly soils, thus the estate's original name 'Carcanieux Les Graves'.
