Chateau Nadal Hainaut Ambre 50cl

Bottle notes

Château Nadal Hainaut is, above all, a family history united around the same passion. A vineyard committed to sustainable viticulture, established in the heart of the Languedoc-Roussillon plain, since 1826. An estate rich in history with its 12th century chapel of rolled pebbles, a witness to the time when monks were already cultivating vines. A generous terroir, between the sea and the mountains with, on the one hand, a clayey and stony soil that keeps it cool, and on the other hand, a temperate climate, stimulated by a powerful wind: the Tramontane.

Today it is us, the sixth generation: Julie Pauline and Marie Luce, with our father.

Attentive to the surrounding biodiversity, we cultivate in a responsible way, 10 grape varieties spread over 43 hectares of land, entirely in organic farming, following the specifications of the Ecocert organic label. As a family, we create innovative and qualitative ranges. We produce red, white and rosé Côtes du Roussillon as well as varietal wines in Côtes Catalanes and natural sweet wines, highlighting each variety and its terroir. Products representing the finesse and elegance that grapes ripened naturally by a singular climate, combination of a beautiful sun and wind.

Concerned about the environment and with the greatest respect for the vines and biodiversity, we maintain the land with care. The estate is a real sanctuary for insects and birds. The vineyard has been able to renew itself, while listening to the surrounding nature and preserving biodiversity.

The ancient is at peace with the modern as long as they both go towards life.

Our story

The marriage of my grandparents, Thérèse Hainaut and François Nadal in 1900, marked the beginning of the history of Château Nadal-Hainaut. Our Carignan, now a hundred years old, was planted that year to celebrate their union. A vine with an age-old strength that we cherish at the foot of our majestic Canigou.

Two generations of winegrowers had already preceded them in the Hainaut family.

It was then my father's turn, Jean Nadal, to take the reins and continue what his father had founded. His love for the land is what he passed on to me at a very young age. I was always in the vineyards, observing them or in the cav, with my father. It is thus very young that my passion for the vine was born. Trained as an oenologist, I took over the estate in 1980, with the great support of my wife Martine

Today, it is with my three daughters that the story continues It is a precious heritage that has been handed down to us, ancestral forms of winemaking and a family tradition. This does not prevent us from experimenting with a number of different methods to explore the issue. Cuvée sans soufre, cuvée nature, full barrel vinification on century-old grape varieties, etc... As a family, we try to innovate by creating new cuvées every year.

From the vineyard to the bottling, everything is done on the estate by us. We choose only sustainable dry materials, and our labels are made of bio-sourced paper.

Being a winegrower means... listening to the vine, the earth and the wind.

To accompany the vine shoot that we plant, until its first harvest, then until the following ones, to make grow beautiful grains. Selecting them to extract the best, with the greatest respect for the earth and for wildlife. The winegrower's job is a true vocation: from the branch to the bottle, we must ensure the quality of the product by listening carefully to the vine and humbly to the earth, all the while keeping our eyes on the sky.
