A generous wine from our best vats and raised from 16 to 20 months in French oak casks. Merlot 80%-Cabernet Sauvignon 15%, with lower percentages of Malbec and Cabernet Franc.
Château Puybarbe is situated at the highest elevation of the Côtes de Bourg appellation, looking over the Gironde estuary on the right bank of Bordeaux. The 41-hectare vineyard comprises mainly Merlot and cabernet sauvignon and is cultivated according to sustainable philosophies. A brand-new winery was inaugurated in 2001 and the winemaking is a mix of traditional and modern showing ultimate respect for the grapes and the terroir.
This winery offers seriously good value to Claret fans, all the character of great Bordeaux with the price tag of a Côtes de Bourg!
