Ecker Eckhof Riesling
When spring comes around each year, we find ourselves reaching for something fresh and fruity to wean us off those winter warmers that have sustained us through the cold months - there's something about riesling that just seems so right when the countryside shows the first signs of greenery and flowers.
Contrary to belief, Austrian riesling leans towards dryness, and it tends to be more full-bodied than its German counterpart, as can be felt in Eckhof's shimmering example. This is fleshy and powerful with elegant stone fruit flavours, good acidity and plenty of characteristic Austrian minerality, suggesting this has a long life ahead of it.
