Ecker-Eckhof Iocated in Kirchberg am Wagram, is run as a family business with history stretching back 400 years. Their winery is located in the beautiful wine-growing region of Wagram, on a deep loess soil layer. Bernhard Ecker stands for constant top quality without compromises. His wines are recognized by clarity, finesse and longevity, which are appreciated by wine-lovers year in and year out.

This Zweigelt Brillant comes from the vineyards around the ridge Wagram. The loess soil, the altitude and the terroir of their origin characterize the wines. They produce fruity and light wines, which are lower in alcohol and full of appealing, bright fruity flavour. 100% stainless steel tank, dry.

Producer notes

The Ecker family have been making wine in the Wagram area of Austria for over 400 years. This uses the local variety Zweigelt which you should try if you enjoy grenache as its full of juicy dark cherry and raspberry fruit and warm spice. It really comes into its own with barbecue food.

This lovely Austrian red is a great introduction to the Zweigelt grape variety. It has nose full of peppery cherries and raspberry with a slight smokiness. The flavours are similar with a round, juicy texture and gentle tannins on a savoury finish. It suits being slightly chilled, especially in the summer.

Try this with grilled meats. Spices, cherries and berries abound, from a fantastic producer.  It has intense dark berries and cherry aromas. Spicy on the palate and with dense body. A delicious summer red, chill it down and take it to the barbecue.
