Flint Vineyard Silex Blanc
Bottle Notes
Complex - breezy floral notes overlaying fresh spice and toasted almond
The glorious 2018 growing season gave the Pinot Noir Precoce grapes the chance to reach optimal ripeness. Once picked, some underwent whole-bunch fermentation while others where destemmed and crushed – Burgundian and Beaujolaise practices combined. Malolactic fermntation took place in Burgundian oak barrels where the wine rested for 6 months. Sour cherry and cranberry pulse on the palate, with a soft but structured texture. Based in the sunny and sheltered Waveney Valley in South Norfolk, overlooking the villages of Earsham and Bungay, Flint Vineyard’s winemaker Ben Witchell crafts wines using a blend of innovation and a respect for tradition. The vineyard site was selected as one of the driest and sunniest regions in England and the south-east facing vines are planted on free-draining gravel and flint soil.
