VINEYARDS COMPOSITION: CASTIGLIONE FALLETTO: 350 METERS ALTITUDE, SOUTHWEST FACING, LOOSER CALCAREOUS MARLS WITH A HIGH PERCENTAGE OF SANDSTONE.  LA MORRA: 300 METERS ALTITUDE, SOUTH FACING, MORE COMPACT CALCAREOUS MARL SOIL MIXED WITH SAND, RICH IN MAGNESIUM AND MANGANESE. LA MORRA, TORTONIAN SOIL: MORE COMPACT CALCEROUS MARL SOIL MIXED WITH SAND, RICH IN MAGNESIUM AND MANGANESE RESULTING IN MORE PERFUMED, GENTLE, SOFTER WINES; CASTIGLIONE FALLETTO, HELVETIAN SOIL: LOOSER CALCEROUS MARL, WITH SANDSTONE, LIMESTONE AND HIGH LEVELS OF IRON WHICH CONVERTS INTO A RICHER COLOUR, BOLDER WINES, STRUCTURE AND A STRONGER TANNIN, MORE POWER THAN THE WEST SIDE.

RICH, DENSE AND POWERFUL. LOVELY TEXTURE AND JUICINESS WITH ELEGANT NOTES OF ROSE PETALS AND CRANBERRY. PERSISTENT FINISH.

100% NEBBIOLO; CASTIGLIONE FALLETTO AND LA MORRA VINEYARDS; AVERAGE VINE AGE: 35 YEARS; ALTITUDES 350 AND 300 METERS; SOUTHWEST AND SOUTH ASPECT; CALCAREOUS MARL SOILS WITH HIGH PERCENTAGE OF SAND AND SANDSTONE; ALCOHOL: 14.5%; HAND HARVESTED FIRST WEEK OCTOBER; FERMENTED AT 30°C ON SKINS 30 DAYS IN 50% – 30HL AND 50% BARRIQUES. AGED ON LEES FOR 8 MONTHS; IN WOOD FOR 24 MONTHS. BOTTLED UNDER NITROGEN COVERAGE AND STORAGE IN CONTROLLED TEMPERATURE ENVIRONMENT.
