Hanewald-Schwerdt is a partnership between Thomas and Stephen who have come together to run their family’s winery. They focus on dry styles of Riesling and Pinot noir. This has lots of round red fruit with light body.
Bright strawberry and cherry notes lead the way with some delicious savoury character and good minerality. Intense and medium bodied this is designed to be drunk easily on it's own or equally with food.
After pressing the wine was aged in 6000 litre barrels, a small amount went into 225l barrels for one year. 20 % new French oak barrels were used.
The family owned and operated estate Hanewald-Schwerdt was founded in 1955 in Leistadt.
