Le Caniette Rosso Piceno Superiore Morellone
Nestled between the Apennines and the Adriatic coast, the vines of Le Caniette were first planted by Raffaele Vagnoni in the 1960s. Today, his two sons Giovanni and Luigino run the expanded 16-hectare family estate, combining modern technology in the cellar with organic growth in the vineyard.
Tasting Notes
Dark ruby in color, with aromas of ripening red fruits and earthy, herbal hints. Fruit forward yet not at all jammy. Medium body, but on the palate, this wine is strong, persistent, and tannin-rich.
Vineyard Notes
Le Caniette was founded in the 1960s by Raffaele Vagnoni who gradually converted the land he inherited from his father into Vineyards. Giovanni his son joined the company in the early 90s and introduced the first labels. From his first glance, it's easy to see what makes this place so unique. The vineyards filled with Pleistocene clastic rocks, the Mediterranean climate and the close proximity to the Balkans.
Food Pairing Notes
Beef and Venison.
