Château Puybarbe sits at the heart of Côtes de Bourg, where three parallel ridges carve the landscape along the Gironde estuary. Known since at least 1895 for its vineyards, and evoking centuries of history through its 15^th century engravings, the château has flourished under the Orlandi family since 1952. Today, Riku and Anna Väänänen are writing the next chapter in its rich tapestry.

From its lofty vantage point on the third ridge, the estate benefits from perfect drainage, ample sunshine, and cooling estuary breezes. This “Small Switzerland” terroir, coupled with meticulous vineyard care, ensures that every vintage reflects both the grandeur of the land and the passion of its custodians.

The Château Puybarbe Papillon Blanc de Noir is a unique, pale-coloured white wine crafted from red grapes grown at the Château in the Côtes de Bourg appellation of Bordeaux.

Blanc de Noir translates to "white from black," it is made by gently pressing red grapes to extract the clear juice without allowing the skins to impart colour. Given the estate's heavy focus on Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, the wine exhibits crisp, lively fruit notes while retaining a silky texture and complexity distinct from traditional white Bordeaux blends.
