Introducing the Edição Especial, the top wine at Cabriz!
Dão region might have been created with wine making in mind, where conditions couldn't be better for red wines like this. The Portuguese tend to say it is the "burgundy of Portugal"! Surrounded by mountains, the blend on this wine really show the balance of alcohol, concentration of flavours & tannins of this expressive region.
Ageing in 50% new French oak barrel & 50% second use, gives it body & structure for a smooth elegance, without becoming too overpowering. Touriga Nacional forms the backbone of the wine. This is then carefully blended with Alfrocheiro & Aragonez for the delicate structure tannins & blackberries aromas.
