Sancerre Rouge Les Pommereaux
Bottle notes
Made from whole bunch fermentation of Pinot Noir grapes, giving a lighter style, but with bags of fresh red fruit - redcurrant, strawberry, and raspberry notes. Light- medium bodied with smooth tannins and balanced acidity leading to a lovely long finish.
From the 1-hectare Pommereaux field, planted with Pinot Noir in 1970. The wine is fermented in steel tanks and rounded off in small 225-liter barrique casks. Cherries, flowers, and leather together with a balanced acidity and fine soft tannins result in a long aftertaste with cherries and coffee notes.
