Mourvèdre needs immense heat and sunshine to fully ripen and, as a result, is thriving in Swartland. Darker and chunkier than Spice Route’s other single varietal reds, this is a fantastic example of some of the exciting wines being made in this great region. TASTING: Dense and intense, with opulent aromas of black cherry, raspberry, cardamom and wild herbs. The palate is brimming with juicy black and red fruit flavours, tempered by a subtle savoury edge. It is medium bodied, with ripe tannins and well-integrated oak.
