The Mentors Chenin Blanc - KWV
The Mentors Chenin Blanc – KWV
Bottle notes
The powerful The Mentors Chenin Blanc KWV shines into the glass with a dense platinum yellow color. After the first swirl, this white wine reveals a high viscosity, which is evident in church windows at the edge of the glass. The first nose of The Mentors Chenin Blanc shows of lemongrass, lemons and peaches. The fruity parts of the bouquet are joined by notes of barrel aging like even more fruity balsamic nuances.
The KWV The Mentors Chenin Blanc delights with its elegantly dry flavor. It was bottled with 3.2 grams of residual sugar. As you would expect from a wine in this price range, this South African naturally enchants with the finest balance despite all its dryness. Excellent taste does not necessarily require a lot of sugar. On the palate, the texture of this powerful white wine is wonderfully creamy. With its vital fruit acidity, The Mentors Chenin Blanc reveals itself to be fantastically fresh and lively on the palate. In the finish, this well storable white wine from the wine-growing region of the Western Cape finally inspires with considerable length. Again, hints of grapefruit and pink grapefruit appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the granite-dominated soils join in.
Vinification of The Mentors Chenin Blanc by KWV
This powerful white wine from South Africa is made from the Chenin Blanc grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in the Western Cape. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of granite. After manual harvesting, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Fermentation follows in small wood at controlled temperatures. After the end of fermentation, The Mentors Chenin Blanc is aged for another 9 months in 500 l oak barrels.
