Toth Ferenc Egri Bikaver
Toth Ferenc Egri Bikaver
Bottle notes
A lovely, medium deep ruby colour with a viscous appearance. The nose starts with rum chocolate, continues fruit with hints of cherry, mulberry and currant raisin. With time, a hint of pepper and paprika spice emerges in the aromas. Acids and tannins are youthful. It is as fruity on the palate as it is on the nose. It has a medium-long finish and is a filigree wine. The cherry is particularly pronounced on the finish, with a slight oaky spiciness.
Technology
A blend of four base wines. The grapes for the base wines were harvested at full maturity with high must sugar content. Each variety was harvested separately at the right time for the variety. The grapes were fermented in stainless steel tanks after crushing and destemming for about 20 days. Each base wine was decanted into oak barrels of different sizes and aged for 15 months.
Food Pairing
Recommended with Hungarian dishes, beef and duck.
